CLASSROOM AND MAIN OFFICE ADDITION
Significant progress has been made on the classroom and main office addition. In the last week, crews have poured the concrete floors, added a weather barrier to the exterior masonry, and started to install the joists and metal decking. In the coming week, we are hopeful that the exterior brick will be added to the masonry walls; window installation; and roofing installation will begin. In addition, structural reinforcement is being added to the building at the connection points with the new addition.

The courtyard is being prepared for its new life as an expanded elementary cafeteria. The topsoil is being stripped and coordination between the electrical, plumbing, excavating, and general contractor continues.
The concrete floor has been poured and roofed joisted have been set in the storage area. The exterior brick and roof installation are planned in the weeks.
The final quality control review of the construction drawings and project manual was completed on May 13. An invitation to bid was published in the Sparta Herald and the Cashton Record. Construction drawings and project manuals have been uploaded to the Plan Room on the Submittal Exchange Website. On June 11, at 2:00 pm we will host a contractor walk-through. Interested bidders will have the opportunity to review the project details and submit a bid by 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 19. The bid opening will be a public event that will take place in the MS-HS gym. The Board of Education will formally select the MS-HS project contractor at the regular June 23, 2014 Board meeting.
